Examination which shows the foetus on a screen. A health professional puts a slippery gel on your belly and moves the ultrasound device over your belly to produce an image of the foetus. A health professional might carry out an ultrasound scan several times during pregnancy to make sure your foetus is healthy and sometimes to determine the expected date of birth.
