Scabies is transmitted through direct skin-to-skin contact, such as during sex. Symptoms include itching and a skin rash between the fingers, on the wrist or near the genitals. Condoms do not protect against scabies. Scabies is caused by parasites (very tiny animals) that lives under the skin. Scabies are treated with an over-the -counter parasite-killing lotion found at the pharmacy. Bed linen, towels and clothes should be washed at 60 degrees centigrade.
