Diaphragme

Capuchon en silicone, d’un diamètre de 10 cm au maximum, qu’une femme place dans son vagin avant un rapport sexuel. Il permet à la femme d’éviter de tomber enceinte (c’est un moyen de contraception). Le diaphragme recouvre l’entrée de l’utérus (col de l’utérus) et empêche le sperme de l’homme de pénétrer dans l’utérus. Pour renforcer la protection, un gel qui tue ou qui inhibe les spermatozoïdes est appliqué à l’intérieur du diaphragme.

Diaphragm

Silicone cap, with a maximum diameter of 10 cm wide, which a woman puts into her vagina before having sexual intercourse. It prevents a woman from getting pregnant (it is a method of contraception). A diaphragm covers the entrance to the uterus (cervix) and prevents the man's semen from entering the uterus. To enhance protection, a gel is applied to the inside of the diaphragm to kill or inhibit sperm cells.
