Couples, with or without children, can decide they want to live together. They have different options:
- Get married or sign a cohabitation agreement (legal contract);
- Live together without marriage or a legal contract.
A cohabitation agreement is a legal contract, but the rights and duties in it are different from a marriage.
Some couples have a relationship, but they do not live together. This kind of relationship is called "living apart together".
