Rape means having sex with another person when consent is not obtained or not given freely. Rape includes using force, threats or violence to have sex with someone. It also includes having sex with someone who is so intoxicated that they are not able to give consent or having sex with someone who is sleeping or is unconscious. In Norway, any sexual contact with children under 14 years of age is defined as rape.
